質問: 「筆頭筆者」や「共著者」とはどういう意味ですか？

著者が複数いる研究論文では、一人の著者が筆頭筆者（lead author）に指定されます。


筆頭筆者 が行うことは、以下の項目です。

• 当該論文に関して、全体的な責任を負う
   
• 通常は責任著者（corresponding author）になる。責任著者とは、他の共著者全員からの承認を得たり、ジャーナルとやり取りを担当する
   
• 通常は論文の第一著者（first author）になる。すなわち、当該研究に対して最も大きな貢献をなし、論文の大部分を執筆・編集したことを意味する

オーサーシップ基準を満たす人なら誰でも、論文の共著者になる資格があります。国際医学雑誌編集者委員会（International Committee of Medical Journal Editors/ICMJE）のガイドラインによれば、以下の基準をすべて満たす人が、共著者になることができます。

1. 当該研究の構想やデザイン、または当該研究データの獲得、分析もしくは解釈に重要な貢献をし、かつ

2. 重要な知的内容に関して原稿を作成し、またはそれを批評的に修正し、かつ

3. 最終稿を承認し、かつ

4. 当該研究のあらゆる面について責任を負い、当該研究に対する正確性や誠実性に疑問が生じた場合には適切に調査し、解決するよう最善を尽くすことに同意している者
